Pattern Editors

Various subtypes of editors are available for pattern development, which can be used to define dynamic metadata rules. These rules are used to describe at which points in a mapping or workflow properties should be set, fields inserted or expressions formed.

The use of the editors is explained in the following section. To open an editor, it is always sufficient to simply click on the corresponding position of an object that is to be dynamized.

The following editors exist:

File Editor

An editor to define file templates.

Reusable Expression Editor

An editor to define reusable template components.

Naming Editor

An editor to define a naming rule for an object (table, workflow, notebook, etc.) inside the pattern.

Port Editor

An editor to configure how a placeholder field in a mapping or data flow should be replaced with fields from an instance.

Expression Editor

An editor to define the statement of an expression / variable / derived field inside a mapping or data flow.

Property Editor

An editor to define any property of an object (table, dataflow, pipeline etc.) inside the pattern.

Lookup Editor

For a lookup transformation, a special editor is used to define how the lookup should be replicated.
